Amulya Chevuturi

Amulya Chevuturi is a Hydroclimate Data Scientist at the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology. She specialises in understanding global precipitation and its variability in both current and future climates. Her work involves evaluating model forecast skill and uncertainty, as well as investigating rainfall-related hazards such as floods and droughts.
As a Funded Investigator for the Co-Centre for Climate + Biodiversity + Water, Amulya leads the coordination of hydrological modelling and analysis at UKCEH. She collaborates with Climate+ partners and stakeholders from the water industry to provide expert guidance on developing resilient infrastructure for the UK water sector
Currently, Amulya is also contributing to several projects at UKCEH, including global hydrological forecasting and projections for extreme weather events. Before joining UKCEH, she worked as a researcher at the National Centre for Atmospheric Science at the University of Reading, where she focused on various projects related to flood and drought forecasting, monsoon and its onset, tropical precipitation forecasts, and the spatial and temporal scales of precipitation variability, as well as the hydrological cycle and climate change.
Amulya has established strong national and international collaborations and regularly engages with the media and the public to share information about her research.
