Andrew Parnell
Professor Andrew Parnell is a Principal Investigator at the Co-Centre for Climate + Biodiversity + Water. He co-leads several areas of our research including the Evidence, Discovery & Integration theme as well as the Skills for the Green Transition and the Research Synthesis Working Group.
In addition to his work at Climate +, Andrew is the Met Éireann Professor of Data Science for Climate and Weather at University College Dublin. He is also a funded investigator in the MaREI Centre for Energy, Climate, and Marine Research and Innovation, as well as the Insight SFI Centre for Data Analytics.
Andrew’s research focuses on machine learning and statistical modelling applied to various climate and ecological fields. He has authored over 110 peer-reviewed publications and has received more than €16 million in direct research funding. He was previously Director of the Hamilton Institute at Maynooth University.
