Our People
Caroline McKeon
Caroline uses macroecological approaches to investigate ecological evidence relevant to addressing the interconnected crises of climate change and biodiversity loss, using a case study of the islands of Ireland and Great Britain.
She integrates existing data to assess the relationships between biodiversity, climate, and direct human influences. By using species traits—such as functional traits, life history strategies, and growth forms—she addresses the gap between the overarching concept of “biodiversity” and the data pertaining to individual species.
Ultimately, her work aims to enhance our understanding of how different species respond to land use and climate changes, as well as to project potential biodiversity outcomes under future climate and land use scenarios.
