Georgina Mooney
Georgina Mooney has a background in environmental science and wildlife conservation and has worked professionally as an ecologist. Since beginning her PhD in May 2025, she has focused on freshwater ecology, studying invertebrate communities and the effectiveness of wetland pond systems and bunded drains as mitigation measures on agricultural land to improve water quality.
Her research includes nutrient and sediment sampling to assess retention potential, comprehensive biodiversity surveys of ponds and drains, and tracking how these ecosystems evolve over the course of her PhD.
