James Carruthers
James is a postdoctoral researcher based at Newcastle University, investigating the role of natural variability and climate change in causing extreme weather events in the UK and Ireland. His PhD at Newcastle University focused on the dynamical and thermodynamical contributions to changes in winter precipitation in the UK, and the representation of these processes in climate models. James was a finalist in the 2024 Allianz Climate Risk Award.
