Raymond K. Wilson
Raymond is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Ulster University, Coleraine, working with the Co-Centre for Climate + Biodiversity + Water. His research focuses on high-resolution monitoring of phosphorus in rivers to better estimate nutrient loads entering Lough Neagh. This work involves planning new monitoring equipment, validating field measurements, and supporting future citizen science initiatives.
Raymond completed his PhD in 2023, studying freshwater ecosystems as a limnologist. His research examined marl lake eutrophication and remediation, crayfish ecology, and groundwater dynamics. He has also investigated how changes to in-stream habitats affect invertebrate communities. In his current role as a catchment scientist, Raymond applies this expertise to help understand and improve the management of freshwater systems.
