Sandra Cristina Deodoro

Dr. Sandra Deodoro is a geographer specialising in remote sensing and its applications to land surface monitoring. At the Co-Centre for Climate + Biodiversity + Water, she uses radar (SAR) and optical satellite data, combined with machine learning, to study land use changes and support sustainable land management, with a focus on grasslands and croplands.

Sandra completed her PhD in Geography at Maynooth University, where she applied microwave remote sensing to soils, estimating soil texture and particle size fractions across vegetated landscapes in Ireland. Her work combines advanced satellite technology and data analysis to improve understanding and management of land and agricultural ecosystems.
