Frank and Dorothy Anderson Scholarships

REMOVING FINANCIAL BARRIERS

The Frank and Dorothy Anderson Scholarships, funded by Mark Anderson, are a life-changing initiative supporting Aerospace, Mechanical, or Product Design Engineering students at Queen’s. By providing two scholarships of £10,000 per annum for up to four years, the fund removes financial barriers and allows students to focus on their education and future careers.

The scholarships honour the journeys of Mark’s parents, Frank and Dorothy Anderson, who used education to build a new life in Canada. Frank, the first in his family to attend university, studied at Queen’s before moving abroad, where he and Dorothy raised a family that valued intellectual curiosity and the power of education. Their legacy lives on through these scholarships, ensuring talented students can thrive.

By easing financial pressures, the Frank and Dorothy Anderson Scholarships empower students to fully engage in their studies, develop their engineering expertise, and build a strong foundation for their future careers.

“The Frank and Dorothy Anderson Scholarship has meant a great deal to me. The gift allowed me to quit my job and focus on my studies, significantly increasing my performance in my second year... Having the extra time to focus on university work this year has really helped me with my engineering knowledge. Additionally, I purchased a new computer and iPad, making my studies so much easier this year. I can’t thank you enough for this gift; it has significantly impacted my life.” JOEL GOOD
