Lindsay Deely
Lindsay is the Engaged Research Officer for the Co-Centre for Climate + Biodiversity + Water, working toward a collaborative approach where researchers and societal partners work together as co-creators of knowledge.
Lindsay has experience as an art and science educator and researcher whose work combines science communication, community engagement and arts education. Her work is centred on a strong commitment to expanding access to both the arts and sciences, particularly for underserved communities. She frequently trains young scientists to effectively engage diverse audiences in STEM. Lindsay has led on the development of engagement programmes and learning toolkits co-created with young people on the topics of medical devices, environmental awareness and stewardship, biodiversity and plant science. She is currently Artist in Residence for the Baboró International Arts Festival for Children.
Lindsay is also a postgraduate researcher at the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre at the University of Galway. Her research focuses on identifying the mechanisms underlying participation in the creative arts and how they shape developmental processes and outcomes for children and young people.
