Data sits at the heart of the Co-Centre for Climate + Biodiversity + Water’s research. We collate and generate diverse datasets that support interdisciplinary research and inform real-world decision-making across climate, biodiversity and water.
Data Portals and Resources
We develop and maintain a collection of data portals and tools that enable researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to discover, access, and reuse data produced through the Climate + Co-Centre’s research programme.
Together, these resources support transparent research, enable collaboration across jurisdictions and institutions, and help translate scientific evidence into impact.
Our Data Principles
We are committed to ensuring that our data follows the FAIR principles — meaning it is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable. This shapes how we collect, manage, publish and share data across all our work, and helps ensure it delivers value long after a project ends.
In practice, this means:
- All data comes with clear descriptions so that others can understand and use it
- We use recognised standards and identifiers to make data easy to locate and connect with other sources
- Data is stored and shared through trusted, reliable platforms and repositories
- We are clear about how our data can be used and by whom, so that others can confidently reuse it for their own research or work
We recognise that not all data can be openly shared without restriction. Our approach balances openness with ethical, legal, and environmental considerations, including data sensitivity, intellectual property, and the protection of vulnerable ecosystems and communities.
Where full openness is not possible, we work to ensure data remain as accessible and reusable as possible within appropriate governance frameworks.
