Cormac Cleary

Cormac Cleary is a Postdoctoral Researcher based in the School of Communications at Dublin City University, working on project 3.4: “Analysing public understanding of climate, biodiversity and water quality risks and responses”. This project continues his interest in the cultural politics of environmental change.

His PhD research at the University of Edinburgh examined the conflicts between Scottish Gaelic language revitalisation and nature conservation in the Outer Hebrides. He has also carried out research on interactions between seal conservation and small-scale fisheries in Ireland. Prior to his academic career, he has worked in media, environmental management, and the arts sector.
