Luana do Carmo Araujo de Oliveira

Luana is an environmental specialist who combines expertise in ecology, intercultural education and sustainable practices. She holds a degree in Biological Sciences and two Master’s degrees, one in Anthropology and another in Development Practice.

She is passionate about helping people coexist in harmony with nature and is dedicated to finding practical solutions to societal challenges, such as climate change, ecosystem degradation, and social inequality.

With over 10 years of international experience, she has worked on participatory projects that promoted community engagement and empowerment, co-creating initiatives focused on restoring nature, improving local livelihoods, and supporting health, sustainable agriculture, food security, and economic development, particularly in vulnerable or often-overlooked communities.

Currently, she works as a Research Assistant at the Climate+ Co-Centre, where she supports the Education and Public Engagement initiatives, connecting the knowledge produced by researchers to local practices, encouraging inclusive, eco-friendly and socially responsible actions in everyday life among non-academic communities to drive positive and meaningful impacts across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Great Britain.

Luana’s goal is to promote environmental awareness and disseminate solutions that protect biodiversity, water resources, and build a more resilient and fair future.
