Maisie McDavid

Maisie is a PhD researcher at Dublin City University, specialising in environmental governance, law, and policy. Her research examines how governance frameworks can be designed and implemented to achieve just resilience, ensuring equitable responses to environmental challenges.

With a background spanning physical and human dimensions of environmental change (BSc Geography) and international environmental law (LLM Global Climate and Environmental Law), her work bridges science, policy, law, and justice. Her PhD explores how institutions, policies, and implementation processes can deliver climate and biodiversity resilience in ways that support communities, uphold environmental justice, and recognise diverse forms of knowledge.

Her broader interests include environmental justice, participatory governance, socio-ecological systems, and the governance of transformative adaptation. Through her work, she aim ato contribute to policy pathways that strengthen environmental integrity while also addressing social inequality in climate and biodiversity responses.
