Gayathri Girish Nair

Gayathri is a PhD researcher at the Climate+ Co-Centre, working under Dr. Silvia Caldararu in Platform 1. She applies deep learning to plant-trait and climate data to understand how plant traits vary across regions and environmental conditions. Gayathri holds an MSc in Computer Science (Data Science) from Trinity College Dublin and a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Heriot-Watt University.

Driven by a desire to support environmental sustainability and a curiosity about how AI can help synthesize complex climate data, Gayathri aims to contribute innovative solutions to pressing climate challenges. During her time at the Co-Centre, she seeks to grow as a researcher while bringing a unique perspective drawn from the intersection of multiple disciplines to generate novel ideas.
