Towards Meaningful School–Community Partnerships
On 20 March 2025, Dr Gareth Robinson, Engaged Research Lead for Education, Skills, and Inclusive Innovation (ESII), contributed to the Education Authority’s Extended Schools Clusters event, Developing Collaborative Networks.
Hosted at the Skainos Centre in Belfast, the event brought together educators, policymakers, and community partners to explore collaborative approaches to tackling educational disadvantage.
Dr Robinson’s presentation, Towards Meaningful School–Community Partnership: Insights and Lessons from QCAP, drew on place-based research and practical examples from across QCAP’s work. His input explored the structural and relational conditions that enable authentic collaboration between schools and community development organisations, particularly in areas affected by intergenerational educational inequality.
The video of the session, embedded at the top of this page, captures Dr Robinson’s contribution in full.
QCAP’s participation in this event reflects an ongoing commitment to supporting schools and communities to build more equitable, coherent, and place-sensitive approaches to educational improvement.
